PolicePAD App

Official Privacy Policy, Data Protection Protocols & Terms of Service

Last Updated: September 13, 2026 | Version: 1.0.0+6
Important Notice & Public Disclaimer: PolicePAD is a restricted, dedicated departmental bandobast duty deployment and location monitoring application designed strictly for authorized police officers, personnel, and staff. It is NOT an app for general citizens and does NOT provide public government services.

1. Introduction

Welcome to PolicePAD (accessible at https://policepad.in). We are strictly committed to safeguarding the operational data, location privacy, and identity of the personnel deployed on bandobast, security, and protocol duties. This document details how our mobile application and web portal collect, process, synchronize, and store location coordinates, attendance selfies, and duty-related logs.

2. Prominent Disclosure: Location & Background Location Tracking

Google Play Policy Prominent Disclosure for Location: PolicePAD collects and processes precise GPS location data (including Background Location: ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION) even when the app is closed, minimized, or not actively on screen.
  • Why Background Location is Needed: To continuously monitor assigned security geofences, calculate real-time distance from the duty center point/corridor, prevent perimeter abandonment, and trigger emergency audio sirens if an officer inadvertently strays outside their assigned duty boundary during live bandobast shifts.
  • No Commercial Use: Location coordinates are synchronized exclusively with the department's authorized deployment database at https://policepad.in and are NEVER shared with third-party advertisers or commercial entities.

3. Information We Collect

Data Type Collection Method Specific Purpose
Buckle Number (BNo) & Name User login / Department roster Authentication and mapping officers to specific bandobast deployment points.
Precise Location (GPS) Device GPS & Network sensors Continuous perimeter verification, geofencing, and real-time supervisory tracking.
Selfie Camera Capture In-App Camera (with user consent) Live photo attendance stamping (duty reporting) and officer-on-behalf staff attendance verification.
Device Status & Battery Level Device battery API & Network manager Informing the control room of low battery conditions or connectivity drops to ensure officer safety.
FCM Device Token Firebase Cloud Messaging Delivering high-priority operational broadcast alerts, duty rescheduling notices, and emergency signals.

4. Camera & Selfie Verification Policy

The app requests access to the device camera (android.permission.CAMERA) solely for real-time duty attendance.

  • The camera is triggered only when the officer manually taps to record presence or capture accompanying staff attendance.
  • The app does not inspect, scan, or access private photos, media libraries, or files stored on the device.
  • Captured selfies are compressed efficiently and transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS to https://policepad.in/punecpnnnew/api/api_upload_selfie.php.

5. Offline Data Storage & Synchronization

To support deployments in remote or congested network areas, PolicePAD utilizes local SQLite database storage. If an officer enters a low-network zone:

  • GPS coordinates and attendance timestamps are cached locally on the encrypted device storage.
  • As soon as mobile network or Wi-Fi is restored, the cached data is securely synced to the server via api_sync_location.php and immediately cleared from local temporary storage.

6. Third-Party Services & Libraries

PolicePAD incorporates trusted industry-standard SDKs that comply with Google Play Developer Program Policies:

  • Google Play Services / Location API: For high-accuracy geocoding and battery-efficient GPS positioning.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC): For transmitting real-time operational notifications and alert tones.
  • OpenStreetMap / Leaflet: For displaying duty boundaries and geofenced zones to officers without tracking private personal identifiers.

7. Data Security Standards

We enforce multi-layered administrative and technical controls:

  • All network communications between mobile clients and our central servers utilize Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS 1.2+ encryption).
  • Administrative access to the bandobast control database is protected by restricted IP whitelisting and role-based authentication credentials.

8. Children's Privacy

PolicePAD is strictly an enterprise application intended for adult police officers and authorized personnel. It is not directed at or designed for children under 18 years of age.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or logging into the PolicePAD application, you acknowledge that you are an authorized police officer or staff member assigned to bandobast or security duty, and you agree to adhere strictly to these operational Terms and Conditions.

2. Authorized Personnel Use Only

You must possess a valid, verified Buckle Number (BNo) registered in the official deployment roster. Any unauthorized attempt by unauthorized third parties to register, reverse-engineer, simulate, or intercept system APIs is strictly prohibited.

3. Prohibition of Mock Location & GPS Manipulation

In the interest of public safety and accurate bandobast deployment records:

  • The use of mock location applications, GPS spoofers, emulators, or system VPN tunneling to simulate false presence is considered an operational violation.
  • The system automatically cross-verifies coordinate integrity and network timestamps during live duty intervals.

4. Hardware & Power Management Compliance

Personnel assigned to active duty must maintain their mobile devices with adequate battery levels and ensure GPS location services remain enabled throughout their shift until officially relieved by supervisory officers.

5. Limitation of Liability

While PolicePAD strives to provide uninterrupted geofencing calculations and high-precision tracking, actual performance depends on satellite availability, atmospheric interference, and cellular network coverage. The platform developers are not liable for telecommunication outages or device hardware malfunctions.

6. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India and applicable state police departmental regulations.

User Data & Account Deletion Policy

In full compliance with Google Play User Data Policies, PolicePAD provides a transparent and accessible pathway for users and officers to request the deletion of their account records, profile details, and historical tracking logs.

How to Request Account & Data Deletion:

Subject: "PolicePAD - Data Deletion Request (Your BNo)"
  2. In-App / Control Room Request: Contact your deployment nodal officer or control room administrator to disassociate your device and purge stored logs.

What Data is Deleted:

  • Authentication profile and linked phone numbers.
  • Device hardware IDs and Push Notification (FCM) tokens.
